Dashami: Tenth Day Of Dasain

October 14, 2013: today is the tenth day of the Dasain festival. Every Nepalese household is busy with completing the festival receiving the blessing from the Goddess Taleju Bhavani: another name of Goddess Durga Bhavani. Then, the patriarch of every household blesses all the family members, and then every family member in turn blesses the juniors. Offerings of the blessing continue until the full moon day.
Dashami is the victory day. It is the victory of good over the evil. So, this day is known as the Vijya Dashami means the victory day of Dashami,
President Dr Ram Baran Yadav is offering the Dasain blessing called ‘tika’ to anybody wishing to receive it at Sheetal Niwas today from 1:00 to 5:00 pm. For four hours, the president will be continuously offering the blessing to the common folks.
In the message, President Dr Ram Baran Yadav also wished all Nepalis for peace, happiness and prosperity in the country and abroad on the occasion of Vijaya Dashami of 2013.
President Dr Yadav said that the Dasain festival has brought family members together, and mutual respect in the society; promotion of the festival like Dasain will help in strengthening the national unity among the diverse people.
President Yadav also has stated in his message that the upcoming elections to a new CA on November 19 CA will be held in a free and fair manner and present as a model to the world drafting a new constitution following the need of and relevance to the country.
