European Union Parliamentary Delegation In Nepal

May 25, 2010: The European Union parliamentary delegation has been in Nepal for a five-day visit starting on May 25 and ending on May 29 for participating in an inter-parliamentary meeting. British Member of European Parliament Jean Lambert is leading the six-member delegation.

The EU parliamentary delegation will meet with the president, prime minister and foreign minister, and various other political figures to discuss the peace process and the writing of a new constitution, the current political deadlock and the possibility of breaking it through the consensus politics.

In addition, the delegation will discuss other subjects such as climate change and assistance to Nepal in completing the peace process and promulgating a new constitution.
