Discussion On National Bird and Animal

The state-run newspaper “Gorkhapatra’ of September 18, 2009 has used almost one sixth of its front page writing about the “Constitutional Sub-committee on choosing national bird, animal, flag and so on” discussing on making ‘rooster’ a national bird. The paper does not say whether it is a joke or a serious thing. If it is a joke then they can discuss making ‘swine’ a national animal.
However, the Constituent Assembly members have to be aware of the need for spending the valuable time on crating a new constitution rather than spending on such meaningless discussions at the time when the time has been running short for writing a new constitution. Also the Constituent Assembly members should be aware of the common laboring Nepalis have been shouldering the burden of supporting you guys for writing a new constitution.
