US Assistant Secretary of State Richard Boucher In Nepal

On February 11, 2009, US Assistant Secretary of State Richard Boucher arrived in Nepal from Bhutan and met with the Prime Minister and the Defense Minister. Talking to the reporters after the meeting with the Prime Minister, US Assistant Secretary of State Richard Boucher said that the US administration would continue the assistance to Nepal and would assist in the process of the constitution writing in Nepal. He also said that they had talked about the removing the Maoists from the list of the terrorists, and the strong worded statement of the Government of Nepal against the terrorist’s attack in Mumbai has helped in taking off the Maoists from the list of terrorists. He would meet with other political leaders on February 12, 2009.
