Students Bully State Agency

July 18, 2012: All Nepal National Independent Students Union-Revolutionary (ANNISU-R) cadres today announced they would shut down all academic institutions under Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) tomorrow to put pressure on the CTEVT to enforce the fee structure set by the high level committee last year, writes ‘The Himalayan Times’.
The high-level fee-setting and monitoring committee had set the fees for CTEVT affiliated academic institutions as follow: at Rs 396,360 for proficiency certificate level, Rs 281,656 for Diploma in Pharmacy and Rs 346,923 for General Medicine.
ANNISU-R cadres vandalized KIST Nursing College in Kathmandu and Nepal Polytechnic Institute in Chitwan smashing computers and a projector there and burnt a Nepal Polytechnique Institute vehicle for charging higher fees to the students according to ‘The Himalayan Times.’
