Bus Services Between Nepal And Tibet

September 16, 2010: the fourth meeting of Nepal-Tibet Joint Tourism Coordination Committee was held in Lhasa: Tibetan capital on September 13-14, 2010, Joint Secretary to Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation of Nepal Laxman Prasad Bhattarai and Standing Committee Executive Vice Chairman, Government of Tibet Autonomous Region, China Wu Ying Jie have signed off Memorandum of Understanding to run bus service between Nepal and Tibet, and Tibet agrees to help Nepal in promoting Nepal Tourism Year 2011 in Tibet through media and billboards and allow regular helicopter and charter services from Nepal to Mansoravor area, and give tourists visa to Tibet in Kathmandu myrepublica.com and nepalnews.com reports quoting Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) press release in Kathmandu.

Mansoravor is a holy lake for Hindus. Every year thousands of Hindus from Nepal and India visit this year even putting their lives at risk at the high altitude traveling in such remote areas in Tibet. For some time it has been restricted area. It will be good for all people living in this continent if the Chinese authorities reopen it to all Hindu pilgrims and other tourists.
