Acting President Of NC Sushil Koirala Meets With Prachanda

May 15, 2010: Acting President Sushil Koirala has met with Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda at the Prachanda’s residence, Nayabazaar in Kathmandu today obviously to sort out the problems of disagreements of the political leaders on various serious political matters before the term of the Constituent Assembly (CA) expires, as it is going to expire soon if its term is not extended.
Acting President Sushil Koirala’s stand has been on not dissolving the current government of Madhav Nepal but UCPN-Maoist Chairman Prachanda has been insisting on first tearing down the Madhav government then only talking on other matters including the extension of the term of the CA. The Maoists have been saying that it does not make sense to extend the term of the CA as long as the Madhav government remains in place.
On what matters they have agreed on is not know, yet but they have to come to a definite agreement on certain political matters soon otherwise the political situation will be pushed to the uncertainty and the unscrupulous politicians would take the benefits of this situation leading the need for the Nepalese people to take up another movement for preserving the achievements made by the people during the second people’s movement in 2006.
The Nepalese media has recently unfold the news that the NC leaders are thinking to lead a national government including the Maoists but how they would be able to do so at the time when the Maoists have been demanding to lead a national government remains to be seen.
