Serious Discussion On Appointing Lokman Singh Karki
By KTM Metro Reporter
May 8, 2013: Chairman of the Interim Election Council of Ministers also the chairman of the Constitutional Council Khil Raj Rgmi has held a meeting with the leaders of the four major political parties at his official residence in Baluwatar yesterday evening to discuss the support for and opposition against the appointment of Lokman Singh Karki to the chief of the Commission on Investigation into Abuse of Authority (CIAA), according to the news in ‘gorkhapatra’ of today.
After the meeting, one of the leaders of the UDMF Bijya Kumar Gacchedar told the reporters that they did not come to any conclusion on the appointment of Karki at the meeting. He also said that the opposition should have risen before the four-party mechanism decided it but now, the case has been beyond the four parties; so, the Constitutional Council and the President should resolve this issue.
Mr Gacchedar also said that the CC has forwarded the appointment of Karki to the president only after the four-party mechanism agreed on it, and forwarded its suggestion to the CC for appointing Karki to the chief of the CIAA. So, opposition to this issue does not make any sense, Gacchedar says.
