Indigenous Nationalities Not Defeated

Issue 49, December 8, 2013

By KTM Metro Reporter

December 7, 2013: Chairman of Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN) Nagendra Kumal rejected the remarks made by leaders of some political parties that the agendas of NEFIN were defeated, and he said that the issues of identity, equality and secularism were highlighted in the elections and these agenda won, according to the news on the ‘gorkhapatraonline.com’.

He blamed the political parties for overshadowing the constitution writing process focusing their activities on the power game though they were to give the first priority to the constitution writing.

He said that the team recently elected to the CA would institutionalize the identity, equality, inclusiveness, secularism, federalism, democracy, and republicanism. Kumal said that the NEFIN would struggle for the rights of the indigenous nationalities on the street, parliament and judiciary.
