Opposition Leaders Pushing Head Of State Hard To Undemocratic Actions

July 11, 2012: President NC Sushil Koirala, General Secretary Krishna Prasad Situala and Dr. Ram Saran Mahat of NC, Chairman of CPN-UML Jhalanath Khanal and Vice-chairman of CPN-UML Bam Dev Gautam and Vice-chairman of Rastriya Janashakti Party Dr. Prakash Chandra Lohani once again met with head of state President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav today and pushed him to take the most undemocratic actions for not following the recommendations made by the prime minister for the presidential ordinance for a full-fledged budget, and fire the prime minister and appoint a new prime minister, writes nepalnews.com. Both the actions go against the Interim Constitution of Nepal of 2007 clearly indicating the opposition leaders are not for the rule of law but want to grab the power using the presidential office.

Speaking at an interaction event in Kathmandu yesterday, former President of Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) Surendra Bir Malakar said that political parties should anyhow accept minimum common economic agenda following the recommendations of the private sector, and urged the political parties and the government to present a full-fledged budget by building a political consensus to save the economy of the country, writes nepalnews.com.

In a press conference held after the meeting with Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, Nepal-visiting Indian Army Chief General Bikram Singh today has said that the process of resuming military supplies to Nepal is on track. Answering to the queries of the reporters concerning the shipments of military supplies that had been put on hold since the royal takeover in February 2005, General Singh said, “We are moving ahead as per the policies of both the governments. The process is making progress,” writes ‘The Himalayan Times’ of today. General Singh was in Nepal on a five-day official visit.
