July 28, 2013: speaking at the third district convention of Young Communist League in Banepa, Kavre yesterday, chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda has said that the breakaway faction: CPN-Maoist have insulted the martyrs of the people’s war stating to smash the ballot boxes, as the spirit of the people’s war is to write a constitution through a constituent assembly, according to the news posted on ‘gorkhapatraonline.com.’

"The spirit of the people's war was to write the constitution through the Constituent Assembly elections but the Vaidhya group insulted the martyrs of the people's war going against the polls," said Chairman Prachanda.

Chairman Prachanda said that cadres should chase them out if they were to come to disrupt the polls, as they are jackals not the lions.

Concerning the former king, Chairman Prachanda said that the former king also was to disrupt the elections; so the Vaidhya faction wanted to collaborate with the former king.

Chairman Prachanda said that the four-party political mechanism has been making efforts to bring the CPN-Maoist on board the poll process. However, if the CPN-Maoist were to disrupt the elections, then nobody could help it. Chairman Prachanda said that he wrote letters to the CPN-Maoist twice inviting it to talks; and he was for holding a round table conference of all political parties.

Speaking at the meeting of Nepal Dalit Association of districts chairmen and secretaries in Nagarkot, Bhaktapur yesterday, senior leader of NC Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that political parties have no option but to hold elections; so, political parties opting to boycott the polls will lose their strength. “The NC wants to end current political crisis through elections. There is no option but to hold November elections in a free and fair manner” Deuba said.

President of NC Sushil Koirala said that his party was not for amending the 25-point ordinance, and the 11-point agreement, the poll-opposing political parties should come to dialogue rather than going to disrupt the polls.
