Decisions Of Cabinet On Various Matters

October 3, 2011: the cabinet meeting held in Kathmandu yesterday has made decisions on:

Increasing the remuneration of the members of the People’s Liberation Army staying in various cantonments to Rs 6,500 per month adding Rs 1,500 per member per month in view of the increase of salaries of other state employees of the institutions such as civil service, police and army; current Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai when he was a Finance Minister in 2008 had increased the remuneration of the members of the People’s Liberation Army by Rs 2,000 per month;

Approving the state visit of President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav to Qatar from October 10 to 13, 2011 at the official invitation of Royal King of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani;

Setting up a three-member committee presided over by Finance Minister Barsa Man Pun on selecting and recommending a person to the office of the executive chairman of Investment Board on a free competition basis;

And setting up a seven-member task force to be coordinated by the secretary to the Ministry for Women, Children and Social Welfare on the management of burial sites.
