Delegation Of FNJ Meets With Prime Minister

Issue 42, October 17, 2010

By KTM Metro Reporter

October 13, 2010: President of Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) Dharmendra Jha headed a delegation and met with officiating Prime Minister Madhav Nepal at his Singh Durbar office today to inform him about the latest status of press freedom in the country, myrepublica.com reports. The delegation has said to the Prime Minister that the security personnel did not only cooperate with but also misbehave the journalists in Dharan and Mustang.

“The prime minister suggested the FNJ to play a role in putting to an end the impunity in the media sector, saying that those doing good jobs are not motivated unless the unscrupulous ones are punished” myewpublia.com writes. Prime Minister Madhav Nepal has been the most unscrupulous politician; Nepalis need to punish him first so that sincere politicians have room to play the real sincere politics.

“Minister for Information and Communications Shankar Pokharel has said the killing of journalists for practicing their trade has stopped in the last one and a half years” myrepublica.com writes. Another rubbish the Minister has said; everybody knows during this one-and-a-half years media magnate Jamin Shah and another media owner in Janakpur were killed at the day light not mentioning other journalists killed during this period.
