By KTM Metro Reporter

June 27, 2011: the messenger of the Lalitpur District Court has yesterday posted the subpoena on the compound walls of two allegedly criminals Om Bikram Rana and Madan Bahadur Khadka in presence of the locals after the former police officers charged with involvement in the corruption case did not take the subpoena served personally. Former Inspector General of Police Om Bikram Rana and suspended Additional Inspector General (AIG) Madan Bahadur Khadka charged with the involvement in the multi-million-dollar scandal have repeatedly refused to accept the subpoena issued to them; so, the messenger has posted the subpoena on the compound walls of these two guys, ‘The Rising Nepal’ and ‘Gorkhapatra’ of today write.

On June 7, 2011, Commission on Investigation into Abuse of Authority (CIAA) filed a case against 34 incumbent and former police officers for their involvement in the multi-million-dollar worth of the purchase of armored vehicles and materials required for the Nepalese UN Peace Mission in Darfur, Sudan. The UN has refused to reimburse the money stating the armored vehicles and materials are substandard and not usable.

Former law enforcement officers Mr. Rana and Mr. Khadka have shown the real faces, and have also shown that how they must have worked as law enforcement officers while they were on duty. They were not much different from the criminals if they did not follow the court order.
