By KTM Metro Reporter

March 18, 2011: The Commission on Investigation into Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has invalidated the appointment of Saligram Singh as the chairman of Nepal Engineering Council (NEC) stating it goes against the law.

Former Prime Minister Madhav Nepal had run the administration by the cabinet decisions than following the rule of law. He has appointed Mr. Singh to the position of chairman of NEC disregarding the requirements of qualifications for such a job. Madhav Nepal had been very smart to ignore the rule of law.

The CIAA needs to bring Mr. Madhav Nepal to justice for all his previous activities that had been against the rule of law. Mr. Nepal had been Prime Minister for about 20 months despite being defeated at two constituencies in the general elections held in April 2008.

Not only former Prime Minister Madhav Nepal had bypassed the rule of law but also the governor Dr. Yuvraj Khatiwada of the central bank called Nepal Rastra Bank, Madhav Nepal had appointed, has not bothered to follow the rules and regulations for recalling the banknotes with the pictures of former kings. So, CIAA has invalidated the notice published by the central bank concerning the recall of banknotes.
