By KTM Metro Reporter
June 11, 2012: at the meeting of 27 opposition parties held at the central office NC in Sanepa today evening, leaders have concluded that the caretaker government has no right to introduce a budget for FY 2012, and made a decision on holding street protests against the budget if the government introduces it, nepalnews.com reports. They also urged President Ram Baran Yadav for not accepting a budget ordinance when the government recommends. Speaking to the reporters after the meeting with the President, Vice-president of NC Ram Chandra Poudel said that NC and CPN-UML leaders drew the attention of President Yadav to the need for building a consensus on the budget, as the current caretaker government alone can’t introduce it.
Speaking at an interaction event held in Kathmandu yesterday, Nepalese economists suggested the government to build a consensus of all political parties on a new budget otherwise introduce only a small budget to meet the immediate needs. The suggestion has been more political than economical.
