National Awareness Of Foreign Intervention

Issue 52, December 29, 2009

By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

On December 25, 2009, as the part of creating national awareness of Indian encroachment on the Nepalese territory, Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda has said that senior leaders of his party would visit the frontier areas where Indians have encroached on the Nepalese territory along the Nepal-India border following the fourth round of Movement against the President’s move on directly writing a letter to the army chief on May 3, 2009. He has also said that the Indian intervention in the Nepalese politics has hindered the historic task of completing the peace process and writing a new constitution; so, the main objective of the movement is to defend the sovereignty of Nepal and protest the foreign interference in the Nepalese affairs.

In addition to the senior party leaders’ visiting the frontiers, Chairman Prachanda has said that his party will make the publicity of national sovereignty and the protest against interference through posters and pamphlets, and holding cultural programs across the country.
