Kathmandu: A Chinese company called Northwest Civil Aviation has won the contract on the construction of the Gautam Buddha International Airport in Bhairava in 2014. Nepal is constructing this international airport with the loan funding of NPR 8.55 billion from the Asian Development Bank, the news in ‘artha-bazaar’ of “gorkhapatra” today stated.
However, the Nepalese subcontractor called Northwest Nepal Infra Pvt Ltd did not perform, as it should obviously due to the financial dispute with the Chinese company. So, the Nepalese project manager sent a warning letter to the Chinese company stating the contract would be rescinded if the project work were not done properly as scheduled.
The Chinese Project manager was not English speaking making difficulty in communication. So, the Chinese company replaced non-English-speaking project manager with a new one with fluent English language. The Chinese company has directly taken up the project work making the possibility of completing the project without requiring breaking the contract, the news stated.
