Reception At President’s Residence On Republic Day

May 30, 2013: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav held a reception at the residence of the president yesterday on the occasion of the celebration of the sixth anniversary of the republic of Nepal. All former prime ministers, ministers, high-ranking civil servants, police and army officials were present at the residence of the president to celebrate the sixth anniversary of the republic of Nepal, according to the news in ‘gorkhapatra’ of today.

Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda has that Nepalis have not been disappointed with the republican setup but with the delay in institutionalizing it; Nepalis are fully on the side of the republic. Vice-chairman of UCPN-Maoist Dr Baburam Bhattarai has said that Nepalis are fully committed to the republic; republic and secular state have been already set up. Vice-chairman of NC Ram Chandra Poudel has said that there is no alternative to the republic; the country needs to break the political deadlock; to this end, elections will be held in November. Chairman of CPN-UML Jhalanath Khanal has said that the republic will never be in crisis, as the people have set it up, according to the news in ‘gorkhapatra’ of today.
Chairman of the National People’s Front Chitra Bahadur KC has said that even after six yeas Nepalis have not felt the republican setup in Nepal. He also said that Nepal would split into pieces if it were to adopt federalism, and federal states, according to the news ‘gorkhapatra’ of today. Mr KC is one of the political maniacs. He has been madly against the federalism and federal states.
