Closing Borders With India And China For Three Days For Elections

October 23, 2013: the Central Election Security has said that the borders with China and India will be closed for three days starting on November 18 and ending on November 20 for the security of the elections to be held on November 19, 2013, according to the news in the ‘gorkhapatra’ of today.

 

All the entry points along the border with China and India will be closed for three days, and special surveillance will be kept for a week, according to spokesman for Nepal Police Navaraj Silwal. During this period, all people coming from India will be searched, and suspects will be sent back to India. The Nepal security will discuss with the Indian security to this end.

 

Nepal is bordered with India at the 27 districts. Out of them, 21 districts are sensitive for security. At these districts, the armed police along with the Nepal police will provide the security for the elections.
