Promulgating A New Constitution On May 27, 2012

May 25, 2012: at the meeting held at the residence of Chairman of UCPN-Maoist today morning, UCPN-Maoist, NC and CPN-UML have agreed on promulgating a new constitution leaving the contentious issues except for the names and the number of federal provinces to the parliament that would continue after the dissolution of the CA to resolve; they agreed on building a consensus on the names and the number of provinces before promulgating a new constitution according to the news posted on nepalnews.com

The CA will end after the promulgation of a new constitution leaving behind the parliament.

Apparently, UDMF leaders also have agreed on promulgating a new constitution provided names and number of federal provinces are included in a new constitution at the meeting of the leaders of the UCPN-Maoist and the UDMF before the UCPN-Maoist, NC and CPN-UML leaders held a meeting to agree on promulgating a new constitution on or before May 27, 2012.

The UCPN-Maoist and UDMF also agreed that the Prime Minister would not quit the office before the promulgation of a new constitution.

According to Chairman of Sadbhawana Party holding the portfolio of Health Minister in the Bhattarai government Rajendra Mahato said, "The principles, names and the boundaries of the provinces must be laid out in the constitution," nepalnews.com writes.
