Kathmandu: the polling officer declared the CPN-UML candidates winners even the number of votes counted has been more than the votes cast by four votes in the election held in the Belaka Municipality-4 on June 14, 2017 triggering the NC and Maoist-Center candidates to file a petition at the High Court in Okhaldhunga of the Udayapur district protesting against the ruling of the polling officer, and demanding re-polling in the area, as they could not accept the votes that exceed the number of votes cast, the RSS news in “The Rising Nepal” of today stated.
Hearing on the case, a divisional bench of the Okhaldhunga High Court comprising judges Tej Raj Nepal and Dipendra Bahadur Bam issued an interim order to the elected officials not to take office.
