By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

On February 4, 2010, the Constituent Assembly has completed the debate on the draft papers of a new constitution prepared by the eleven subject matter committees and has made those papers ready for submitting to the Constitutional Committee of the Constituent Assembly for integrating those papers and preparing a new constitution.

Speaking to the anchor of the morning program called ‘antar sambad’ of the state-run Radio Nepal aired on February 5, 2010, Chairman of the Constitutional Committee Nilamber Acharya has said that unless and until all major political parties reach consensus on a new constitution the Constitutional Committee would not be able to finalize a new constitution, as the draft papers the Constitution Assembly has completed debating has many dissent notes on it.

However, Chairman of the Constituent Assembly Subash Nemwang has said that the completion of the debate on the draft papers of a new constitution is a historic and it paves the way for completing the writing of a new constitution on time.
