Election Budget in India

Kathmandu, March 1: Indian Finance Minister presented the budget for the fiscal year 2008 to the Indian parliament on February 29, 2008. In view of the parliamentary election to be held in 2008, the Finance Minister proposed in his budget to write off the loan worth of $14 billion given to the 40 million small farmers, and increased the amount for tax exemption for the government employees thus putting billions of dollars in the pockets of small farmers and government employees.

Similarly, the Railway Minister has proposed to cut the railway fare for the air-conditioned compartment, has not increased the railway fare for other classes, and has declared that the state-owned railway system earned the profit of $ 5 billion.
