September 20, 2010: addressing a function held to release a new book titled "Nepali Janaandolan Ka Chha Dasak” (Six Decades Of Nepali People’s Movement) written by Pushpa Prasad Luitel in Kathmandu on September 19, Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda has said that withdrawal of his candidacy from the Prime Ministerial contest and the understating reached between his party and the CPN-UML on electing a new Prime Minister have brought new hopes among the people for political settlement; extension of the term of UNMIN and the agenda on completing the army integration will expedite the political settlement quoting RSS reports ‘The Rising Nepal’ of September 20, 2010.
Chairman Prachanda has further said that the Interim Constitution of Nepal of 2007 and the past agreements do not have any provisions that require integrating the Maoist combatants before forming a government under his party leadership; so, it is a conspiracy against the peace process to say that the Maoists should not get an opportunity to lead the government before the completion of the army integration.
