By KTM Metro Reporter
September 11, 2013: a meeting of the UCPN-Maoist leaders held at the Lazimpat residence of Chairman Prachanda has decided to launch a protest starting on September 13, 2013 against the arrest of Ram Prasad Adhikari allegedly the murderer of Krishna Prasad Adhikari during the conflict period, stating the case of the conflict era should be taken up by the Truth Commission, according to the news in gorkhapatra’ of today. According to the protest program, the UCPN-Maoist cadres will sit in at the District Administration Office for two hours.
It seems that the government is pretending to arrest the murderer to meet the demand of the parents of the dead son for bringing the alleged murder to justice whereas the UCPN-Maoist leaders are launching the protest program to satisfy the cadres. Both the government and the UCPN-Maoist leaders are not serious to resolve the murder case.
The police have been lethargic in arresting the alleged murders and taking the statements from them. The police have gone to the village in the Gorkha district: home district of the victim to take the statements of the villagers rather than taking the statements of the witnesses in Chitwan.
Parents of the murdered son have broken the fast-unto-dead they have been holding demanding to bring the murderer to justice. This is a big achievement for the government. In fact, the government has secured the ruling of the Supreme Court of Nepal on force-feeding the parents in case if they refuse to break the fasting.
