All-party Meeting At President’s Office

Issue 43, October 21, 2012

By KTM Metro Reporter

October 19, 2012: Head of State President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav called an all-party meeting today. Leaders of 33 political parties, Vice-president, and Prime Minister attended the meeting today. President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav read out his seven-point speech to the leaders attending the meeting. The president in his seven-point address to the attendees said that he had been worried about not have been happening to crating a new constitution even after the democratically elected CA had been dissolved already for more than four months and nothing had happened to elect a new CA despite the political leaders had agreed on going to polls for electing a new constitution. The president told the leaders that Nepalis might soon lose their patience with the irresponsible behavior of the political leaders. The president also asked them to build a consensus on the ordinances to be issued by the presidential office, and everything political leaders agree should be following the constitution.

After the meeting, leaders attending the meeting told the reporters that they did not have any discussions and they just listened to the address of the president.

Calling an all-party meeting, and telling the political leaders what he has on his mind, Head of State President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav most probably wanted to relieve him from the pressure put by the NC and CPN-UML leaders to step over the constitutional boundaries and fire the prime minister.
