Keeping Contentious Issues Aside, Removing Obstacles To A New Government

Issue 11, March 17, 2013

By KTM Metro Reporter

March 11, 2013: at the meeting held at the Army Integration Secretariat at Nayabaneswor in Kathmandu yesterday evening, leaders of four major political parties such as UCPN-Maoist, NC, CPN-UML and UDMF have agreed on the draft of the proposal for removing the obstacles to forming a new government presided over by the Chief justice setting aside the contentious issues, according to the ‘gorkhapatra’ new of today.

Leaders would continue to discuss the contentious issues, at the same time, the draft of the proposal for removing the obstacles to forming a new government presided over by the Chief justice would be presented to the Chief Justice through Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai.

Leaders have been telling the public that they have reached an agreement on the major contentious issues but the minor issues have been taking toll on reaching a final agreement on all the issues. Every leader agrees on the need for holding elections to a new CA but most of the leaders don’t step back on their stand on the contentious issues causing delay in forming a new government for holding the elections.

Talking to journalists in Ramechap yesterday, NC second-generation leader Dr. Ram Sharan Mahat said that the UCPN-Maoist was creating obstructions to the formation of a chief justice led-election government by demanding the post of colonel to its ex-combatants in the Nepal Army. “The demand is not fair and it is not acceptable to us,” he said, according to the Gorkhapatraonline.com of today.
