Dig Out of Burial Site Suspected Of Five Students

September 21, 2010: National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has exhumed the suspected burial site of five students such as Sanjiv Kumar Karna (25), Durgesh Labha (23), Jeetendra Jha (23), Pramod Narayan Mandal (19) and Sailendra Yadav (18) allegedly killed by the State security forces and made enforced disappearance during the armed conflict, to bring the perpetrators of human rights violence to justice.

The dig-out done by NHRC until September 16, 2010 has found the remains of four persons including one without a head, and has also recovered some bullet shells; NHRC has turned over all these evidences to the police for further investigation according to the ‘Himalayan News Service’ of September 19, 2010. However, identies of the students killed by the State securities will be known after the DNA tests.
