March 4, 2013: students affiliated to the NC enforced the shutdown of Dhading Besi protesting against the students affiliated to the CPN-UML. The students affiliated to the CPN-UML had allegedly assaulted the students belonging to the Nepal Students Union (NSU) affiliated to the NC, according to Gorkhapatraonline.com news of today. NSU members clashed with the police after the NSU entered the venue of the seventh district convention of CPN-UML Dhading and chanted slogans and resorted to indiscriminate assaults on the CPN-UML cadres at the Puchar bazaar yesterday morning.

NC cadres damaged four vehicles and four motorcycles used by the CPN-UML cadres and also tried to set fire on them. The NSU cadres also vandalized the Hotel Jibika and Hukka Bar where the CPN-UML convention was ongoing. In response to the alleged vandalism by the NC cadres, the CPN-UML also took out a demonstration, according to the ‘Gorkhapatraonline.com’ news of today.

The shutdown was enforced by the NSU in protest against the alleged attack on its members Sri Krishna Bhandari and Newton Shrestha. They blamed the CPN-UML for providing protection to those involved in the attack.
