Nepal’s Contribution to UN Peacekeeping Force

In New York, on September 23, 2009, speaking at the conference called by US President Barack Obama of the heads of states and of governments of the major nations that have contributed to the UN Peacekeeping Force, Nepalese Prime Minister Madhav Nepal has said that the Government of Nepal is committed to continue its contribution to the UN Peacekeeping Force according to the state-run newspaper ‘Gorkhapatra’ of September 24, 2009. Nepal has been the fifth nation that has been participating in the UN Peacekeeping Force at the call of the UN.

The Prime Minister has said that since Nepal received the membership of the UN in 1955, Nepal has been participating in the UN Peacekeeping Force every year; it has been five decades since then; Nepal has continued sending its Peacekeeping Troupe even during the internal conflict; we are proud of our brothers and sisters that have contributed to the UN Peacekeeping Force for the world peace.
