November 28, 2013: Fourteen political parties including UCPN-Maoist, Federal Social Party, Madhesi People’s Right Forum-Nepal and -Democratic, Terai Madhes Democratic Party, and Rastriya Janmukti Party headed by Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda have submitted a memorandum to the Chief of the Election Commission (EC) stating irregularities in the elections have been with the involvement of the security, and demanded the probe into the irregularities, according to the news in the ‘gorkhapatra’ of today.

The protestors have said that nothing has been done even when reported on the irregularities in the elections to the election officer, the security and the district election office, so they demanded to set up a high level investigation committee to look into the irregularities in the elections.

However, the Election Commission has said that the elections have been extremely transparent, free and fair. Concerning the demand for setting up a high level investigation, the chief election commissioner has said that he does not see it necessary, as the Election Court is there to take the election related disputes.
