Irregularities in Buying Jackets for Police
By KTM Metro Reporter In Kathmandu
On September 16, 2009, the Commission on Investigation Into Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has ordered the central police administration to annul the process of buying 50,000 jackets for the Nepal Police as the process has been off the track of the regular administrative rules, and starts the process again.
The CIAA has also asked explanations of the irregularities in the process of buying jackets from the nine police authorities including the Chief of the Nepal Police.
Home Minister Bhim Rawal has been very smart to propose a special security plan for recruiting 16,000 addition manpower for the Nepal Police and get it passed from the cabinet most probably for amassing a huge wealth. So, anybody having a little bit knowledge of how the ministers amass wealth from the commissions they receive from a bulk buying even strictly following the administrative rules and regulations could guess how much more money they could make disregarding those rules and regulations for purchases.
