‘Resign Madhav Nepal On Moral Ground’ Says Prachanda

Issue 20, May 16, 2010

By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

May 12, 2010: Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda has said that the Madhav government has been already in minority after the formation of a new coalition of ten political parties that are for federalism, secularism, republic, writing a new constitution and competing the peace process so Madhav Nepal needs to resign even on the moral ground according to the state-run newspaper ‘The Rising Nepal’ of May 11, 2010.

If Madhav Nepal is an ethical person he would have never been a Prime Minister rather he would go to the people begging for pardon for the misdeeds he had done in the past. However, Madhav Nepal has continued to do many anti-people deeds for grabbing anything he could before he is pushed out of power. He has been running the administration with his cabinet decisions rather than following the rules. So, he has been bullying the rule of law.

His ministers have been terrorizing the state officials. Recently, the Labor Minister has manhandled one of the highest-ranking civil officials when the official has attempted to convince the minister of his decision on appointing labor attachés goes against the rules and does not follow the rule of law. About six months ago, another Minister of State had slapped the Chief District Officer in public causing uproar among the state employees. Prime Minister Madhav Nepal has failed to take any actions against such ministers even though the law prescribes the fine of Rs 10,000 and two-year imprisonment for assaulting anybody.
