By KTM Metro Reporter

July 27, 2010: in a meeting with the visiting President of Asian Development Bank (ADB) Haruhiko Kuroda, Nepalese Minister for Finance Surendra Pandey has complained that the Government of Nepal has been having difficulties in implementing development projects funded by the donor agencies because of their stringent conditions imposed on them; so, the donors need to be flexible about their aid to Nepal according to the local media.

ADB President Kuroda has assured the Nepalese Minister of supporting the Nepalese efforts on implementing development projects to meet the people’s expectations in the development, at the same time advised the Nepalese Minister for improving the implementation of projects in other words strictly following the rule of law so that both the poor and well off people can enjoy the benefits of development projects equally. ADB is the major donor to Nepal.

President Kuroda has also pointed out the need for the political stability for the effective implementation of development projects, and has shown concern for the current political deadlock leading to the uncertainty, and to the delay in electing a new Prime Minister.
