Sher Bahadur Deuba Quits His Office Of CWC Member

issue 40, October 2, 2011

By KTM Metro Reporter

September 29, 2011: senior leader of NC Sher B Deuba has quit his office of the member of the Central Working Committee (CWC) in desperation after he has failed in convincing his rival and president of NC Sushil Koirala of the need for reversing his decision on dissolving the committees of the four sister organizations affiliated to the NC.

Mr. Deuba has broken the huger strikes of some of the members of the committees of the sister organizations feeding them with fruit juice at the office of the NC party in Kathmandu. They have been on hunger strike for the last 10 days demanding the reversal of the decision of the party president Sushil Koirala on dissolving their committees. Health of Some of them has been so deteriorated that they needed medical treatment at a hospital.

Sushil Koirala has defeated Deuba in the election to the president of the NC party. Using the prerogative of the party president, Sushil Koirala has nominated Deuba to the office of the member of the CWC. Now, Deuba must have thought that he no longer needs the favor of Koirala; so he is turning over the office of the CWC member back to Sushil Koirala.
