Brain Drain Source Of Worry To Prime Minister

December 10, 2012: speaking at the 18th convocation held at the Kathmandu University (KU) in Dhulikhel today, Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai as Chancellor of the KU said that the brain drain had been the serious problem for the country, as the country had been losing a large number of students to foreing countries causing loss of the benefit of investment made in the education sector; consequently, the country would not be able to make a leap forward unless the young generations have remained in the country and made contribution to developing the country, according to the state-run news agency RSS.
Urging the graduates at the convocation to work rising above the personnel interest and short-term benefit in other words not going abroad, the Prime Minister said that their contribution to the country would help to reduce poverty if they were to work for the country and the people. Prime Minister Dr Bhattarai further said that the educated youths were responsible for building the country so they need to build their character worth emulating for others.
