By KTM Metro Reporter

April 2, 2013: The 33 minor political parties including CPN-Maoist-Vaidhya went to the Election Commission and submitted a memo demanding to suspend the updating of the voters’ lists. Leader of CPN-Maoist-Vaidhya Dev Gurung warned the Election Commission of grave consequences if the Election Commission were to continue the updating of the voters’ lists, for which the Election Commission would be responsible.

The Chief Election Commission told the 33-party representatives that updating of the voters’ lists should go smoothly; any party should not obstruct it, as it is not against political party. It is a technical work. Updating voters’ lists is a regular administrative work.

Cadres of the CPN-Maoist-Vaidhya have continued to obstruct the updating of the voters’ lists. They have indulged in criminal acts such as kidnapping the staffs going to villages for updating voters’ lists, and looting their laptops, and even smashing them, and burning down the documents.

Today, the CPN-Maoist-Vaidhya staged a sit-in protest against the Interim Election Government at the State Secretariat called Singhadurbar blocking the roads causing untold troubles to the commuters. They had violated the human rights of the commuters to travel without hindrance. They are subject to punishment for the felony of the human rights violation.

Deputy Chairman of CPN-Maoist-Vaidhya CP Gajurel said that his party would neither go to forest nor take up arms but would disrupt the elections.

General Secretary of CPN-Maoist Ram Bahadur Thapa 'Badal' yesterday said that his party was not against the Constituent Assembly (CA) election but was protesting against the formation of current government and its undemocratic decisions instead, according to gorkhapatraonline.com news of today.
