Gold And Silver Ornaments Found At Gaddi-baithak In Kathmandu

July 9, 2011: representatives of the Department of Archeology, Guthi Samsthan, Hanuman Dhoka Palace Management Office, and a battalion of army called Sarduljung Gulm popularly known as Gurujuya Paltan have opened three safes. One of them has gold and silver ornaments; the second has the check of Nepal Bank; and the third has nothing, ‘Gorkhapatra’ of today writes.

They have displayed the finds to the public and the photos of these ornaments are published in the state-run newspaper ‘Gorkhapatra’ of today. After the public show, they kept in bags and sealed today.

The Director General of the Department of Archeology has said that his department is thinking to build a museum of gold and silver ornaments. He has also that the representatives of the four state agencies will continue to open the safes so far kept unopened.
