Compensation For Delay In Delivery Of State Services

Issue 16, April 21, 2013

By KTM Metro Reporter

April 16, 2013: speaking to the anchor of the Radio Nepal morning program called ‘antar-sambad’ today, Secretary Krishna Hari Banskota said that at least five state departments such as Land Registration, Survey, Immigration, transport, and foreign employment have set up ‘Citizen Charter’ stating any person getting delayed state services would be compensated.

The ‘Citizen Charter’ has stated different services to deliver. It also has stated the time required for the service delivery. If the citizens complain that they have not received the services in the stated time period, they would be compensated from Rs 250 to Rs 5,000.

If an official caused the delay in service delivery then the compensation would be paid out of the pocket of the concerned official. If the delay in the service delivery were due to the office reason, the compensation would be paid from the state coffer.
