No Consensus On forming A New Government Yet
By KTM Metro Reporter
November 03, 2010: recently, the Nepalese media have written that the NC has softened its stand on letting its candidate running forever for the office of Prime Minister, and Candidate Ram Chandra Poudel thinking to end his marathon race for a new Prime Minister because he has stop believing that he could win the race.
The 15th round of election to a new Prime Minister has ended in fiasco for candidate Ram Chandra Poudel, as only 96 out of 601 parliamentarians have voted for him. So, it is not only a shame to him but also to his party that has not garnered even all the votes of its parliamentarians. Most of the political analysts and logical thinking people have come to the conclusion that the NC has been a great hurdle to building a consensus on forming a new government, as it has ignored the numerous calls of Chairman of CPN-UML Jhalanath Khanal to join other political parties opting to form a new consensus government rather than a majority government that will not be able to function properly. However, the NC leaders have been sticking to their demand for giving them a chance to form a new government after the failure of the Prachanda and Madhav governments.
Vice Chairman of CPN-UML Bam Dev Gautam has said that political parties have been working on amending the parliamentary regulations for making the provision for canceling the never-ending process of Prime Ministerial election adopted so far, and effectively ending the never-ending election process, nepalnews.com writes.
