Assistance For Medical Treatment Of Four Prominent Figures In Nepal

July 22, 2013: at the cabinet meeting of the Interim Election Council of Ministers yesterday made a decision on providing up to Rs 500,000 each to former Prime Minister Marichman Singh, NC Leader Chakra Prasad Bastola, People’s Poet Dharma Raj Thapa, Gopalraj Pahadi of Sankhuasabha, and Arabinda Thakur of Dhanusha based on the hospital bills.

 

Former Prime Minister Marichman Singh has been suffering from the lung cancer. He has been undergoing treatment in India. His son has appealed to the government for the support for his treatment. The four-party political mechanism also has recommended the government for providing the former prime minister with the medical assistance.

 

NC Leader Chakra Prasad Bastola had a stroke. He has been lying unconscious since then. He had an initial treatment at the Silgudi Hospital in India. Then, he was taken to New Delhi for treatment. Currently, he has been undergoing treatment at Sahid Gangala Cardiac Hospital in Kathmandu.

 

People’s Poet Dharma Raj Thapa has been suffering from the old-age ailment. He has had treatment at Bir Hospital in Kathmandu.
