Hope for Timely Promulgation Of A New Constitution

April 22, 2012: speaking at a seminar on 'Ideological Struggle In Nepali Communist Movement and Question Of Party Formation' held by the Central Committee of UCPN- Maoist party in Kathmandu today, Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda has said that Marxism is a dynamic science, and 'concrete analysis of the concrete situation is the soul of Marxism' according to the Lenin's great saying; the Nepali revolution should follow the guidance to meet the demand of the nation, time and circumstance, ‘The Himalayan Times’ of today writes quoting the state news agency called RSS.

In an interaction event held by the Reporters Club in Kathmandu, today, leaders of different Indian political parties currently in Kathmandu have said that Nepal needs to promulgate a new democratic constitution following the aspirations of various stakeholders at the earliest to ensure political stability; that is what India wants to see in Nepal, ‘The Himalayan Times’ writes today.

Coming out of a meeting held at the Constituent Assembly building in Kathmandu today, leaders of political parties said that they would build a consensus on the disputed issues meeting the deadline that is the mid-night tonight even sitting at a meeting at the night according to the nepalnews.com

At the same time, Law Minister Brajesh Kumar Gupta has registered the bill on making an amendment to the Article 70 of the Interim Constitution of Nepal of 2007 at the parliament secretariat for paving the way to the promulgation of a new constitution within the deadline of May 27, 2012, nepalnews.com writes.

Opening the Fifth General Convention of Nepal Writers Association in Kathmandu yesterday, President of NC Sushil Koirala said that a new constitution would be promulgated within the May 27 deadline, as all parties were serious about it otherwise the national politics would take a dangerous turn, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today writes.

Receiving a 20-point memorandum from a team of United Dalit Political Struggle Committee (UDPSC) at his residence in Lazimpat in Kathmandu yesterday, Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda has said that the provision for a proportional electoral system will be made in a new constitution for the representation of the oppressed communities like the dalits although the political parties have not agree on it, and has said that it would be better if the dalits put the pressure on the political parties for it, his party is committed to empower the dalits, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today writes.

Talking to the political activists on phone in the far western region of Nepal as the part of his call-in program yesterday, Chairman of CPN-UML Jhalanath Khanal has said that the ethnic-based federalism would bring anarchism and disorder in the country and urged the local leaders to stand by the identity and capacity-based federal system, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today writes.
