January 24, 2013: Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda said that his party conference in Dailekh was successful despite the opposition parties’ efforts to thwart it. Talking to the media reporters in Surkhet at a press meet held by the Revolutionary Journalists’ Association today, Chairman Prachanda appreciated the Dailekhi people for their patience even during the vandalism and scuffles orchestrated by the opposition parties yesterday. Chairman Prachanda opined that the tension that flared in Dailekh would not derail the peace process adding, “Relationship among the party leaders further been cemented with the scuffles,” according to THT ONLINE, today.

Referring to the opposition parties’ allegation of the UDMF being power-centric, Chairman of the UDMF Bijaya Kumar Gacchedar has made it clear that the UDMF is in favor of power sharing but the opposition parties, particularly NC making full swing efforts to grab the Prime Ministerial post, have accused the UDMF of power-centric. Chairman Gacchedar was speaking to the reporters in Kathmandu to inform the public about the decisions made by the UDMF in its two-day meeting held at Gokarna Resort. The meeting has strongly asked the government to execute the four-point pact reached between the UCPN-Maoist and the UDMF earlier stating that various issues such as group-wise recruitment of Madhesi youth in Nepal Army, inclusion in public services and citizenship are to be enforced, yet, according to THT ONLINE of today.
