By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

January 8, 2010: Prime Minister Madhav Nepal and his Defense Minister Bidhya Bhandari have defied the Supreme Court’s order not stopping the enforcement of promotion of Toran Jung Bahadur Singh indicted for enforced disappearance of 49 people taken custody by the Bhairavnath Battalion while he was the commander of the battalion, as he has been regularly attending his duty on the new position.

Similarly, Finance Minister Surendra Pandey has enforced the incentive of Rs 50,000 to a widow marriage despite the Supreme Court’s order not to implement this incentive program following the petition of the Women for Human Rights.
