Distributing MRPs At Thirty-eight District Administration Offices

July 6, 2011: in a very important public notice published in the state-run newspaper ‘Gorkhapatra’ of today, the Central Passport Office (CPO) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that additional thirty-eight district administrations will collect the documents required for Machine Readable Passports (MRPs) from July 17, 2011, and then sent those documents to the CPO for processing the documents and then send MRPs to the concerned district administration for distributing them to the customers. The CPO has started this process in three district administrations of the Kathmandu Valley since December 2010.
If anybody needs a MRP urgently, s/he can use the fast-track service. For the fast-track service, s/he needs to verify her/his documents at the concerned district administration office and then personally sent the documents to the CPO for processing the documents, and receive a MRP at the CPO in Kathmandu.
People living in the district not included in the network of collecting documents for MRPs and then distributing them to the customers have to submit their documents to the CPO and then receive MRPs from there.
Morang District Administration Office will be the coordinating office for the nine district administration offices such as Morang, Sunsari, Saptari, Tehrathum, Dhankuta, Bhojpur, Khotang, Okhaldhunga, and Sankhuwashava that have been assigned to collect documents and distribute MRPs.
Parsa District Administration Office will be the coordinating office for the three district administration offices such as Bara, Parsa and Rautahut that have been assigned to collect documents and distribute MRPs.
Kaski District Administration Office will be the coordinating office for the ten district administration offices such as Mustang, Baglung, Parbat, Myagdi, Kaski, Manang, Lamjung, Syangya, Tanahu and Gorkha that have been assigned to collect documents and distribute MRPs.
Banke District Administration Office will be the coordinating office for the seven district administration offices such as Banke, Bardia, Dailekh, Surkhet, Humla, Dolpa, Jajarkot that have been assigned to collect documents and distribute MRPs.
Kailali District Administration Office will be the coordinating office for the nine district administration offices such as Bajura, Bajhang, Darchula, Baitadi, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Doti, Accham, and Dadeldhura that have been assigned to collect documents and distribute MRPs.
