Prime Minister Holding House Session Hostage

Isue 50, December 12, 2010

By KTM Metro Reporter

December 11, 2010: speaking to the reporters at the international airport upon arrival, officiating Prime Minister Madhav Nepal has said that he will recommend the president to call a House session only after the political leaders build a consensus thus holding the House session a hostage for continuing his stay on in the office illegally. Everybody knows that building a consensus among the three major parties such as UCPN-Maoist, NC, and CPN-UML is next to impossible. So, Mr. Madhav Nepal is intended to remain in power until somebody forces him out of the office. Nepalis need to fight against such a deceitful person that has entered the parliament through the backdoor entrance and got elected to the Prime Minister by the shameless legislators belonging to the NC, CPN-UML and Madheshi political parties. Legislators belonging to the NC party need to think over whether they have been following the democratic values and norms voting for the unelected person for a Prime Minister.

At the same time, House Speaker Subash Nemwang has started talking to the political leaders seeking a special authority to act and end the political impasse but nobody knows why he needs a special privilege when he cannot enjoy the prerogative the Interim Constitution of Nepal of 2007 provide him. It smells fishy and might be another bait set to trap the political leaders.
