Annulling The Contract Of Kathmandu Metropolitan With Sidewalks Pvt Ltd

January 1, 2014: hearing on the case filed by Advocate Deepak Vikram Mishra against the contract the Kathmandu metropolitan administration signed off with the Sidewalks Pvt Ltd company on collecting the entrance fees to Dharahara called Bhimsen Stamv from the tourists visiting the Hanumandhoka area in 2012, the bench of justices of the Supreme Court of Nepal Kalyan Shrestha and Prakash Vasti annulled the contract yesterday, according to the news on ‘gorkhapatra’ of today.

 

In the case filed at the Supreme Court of Nepal, the plaintiff said that the Kathmandu metropolitan administration signed off a contract with the private company called Sidewalks Pvt Ltd on collecting fees from the tourists visiting the Hanumandhoka area was against the prevailing laws such as Contract Law, Competition Promotion Law, Market Protection Law, and Public Purchase Law.

 

Following the contract given by the Kathmandu metropolitan administration to the Sidewalks Pvt Ltd, tourists visiting the Hanumandhoka area have to pay for the entry to Dharahara whether they liked it or not, as the entry fee to the Dharahara was included in the entry fee to the Hanumandhoka area.
