Talks Among Three Major Political Parties
By KTM Metro Reporter In Kathmandu
On September 15, 2009, representatives of three political parties such as Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist, Nepali Congress and Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist and Leninist have sat at the office of the Prime Minister to talk about ending the political deadlock reached due to the Maoist legislators blocking the business of the legislature demanding the debate over the President’s unconstitutional move of directly writing a letter to the Chief of Army Staff and ordering him to stay on in the job annulling the Prime Minister’s actions of firing him for not complying with the government’s instructions in the legislature.
The Maoist representatives have not been willing to change their position on demanding the debate over the President’s unconstitutional move in the legislature whereas the representatives of the NC and CPN-UML have not been willing to discuss it as they have come to power on the unconstitutional move of the government. However, they have agreed to continue to hold talks about the issue.
