NC Leads In Proportional Votes, Too

Issue 48, December 1, 2013

By KTM Metro Reporter

November 28, 2013: NC and CPN-UML have been ahead of the UCPN-Maoist in the proportional votes, too, NC leading all of them. Now, it is sure that the NC will be a largest party in a new CA.

Some junior leaders of the NC have been talking about the NC as a largest party is claiming for forming a new government. However, President of NC has been saying that he would attempt to form a consensus government means a government of all political parties.

Junior leaders of the NC might not agree on forming a consensus government as the president of NC wanted, as those junior leaders would not have a share in the ministerial positions when other smaller party leaders would have the positions.

Some of the NC and CPN-UML leaders have already released a confrontational statement stating no amendment to the interim constitution of Nepal for a consensus instead of the majority votes. Under the pressure of the NC, UCPN-Maoist had agreed to amend the interim constitution for making the provision for the majority votes instead of a consensus in the past CA.
